York Wedding Celebrant

York is a city that does weddings properly. A two-thousand-year history threads through every street — Roman, Viking, medieval, Georgian, industrial — and the venues mirror that range, from the ancient timbered rooms of Merchant Taylors' Hall to the engineering grandeur of the National Railway Museum and the gilt-and-velvet opulence of the Grand. As a York wedding celebrant, I write ceremonies that honour the city's weight without being swallowed by it.

A celebrant-led wedding in York lets you marry exactly where the city feels most like yours — a hidden courtyard, a Minster-shadowed garden, a private library at Betty's, or the winning enclosure at the Racecourse. There's no set building you have to stand in, no set words you have to say. The ceremony is written from scratch around the two of you and the place you've chosen.

York venues I've had the pleasure of working at include —

•  The Grand, York

•  Merchant Taylors' Hall

•  Alexander Wedding & Events

•  Howsham Hall

•  Betty's Tea Rooms (private hire)

•  The Principal York

•  Private gardens and walled gardens around the city

If you're marrying in York and would like to check whether I'm free, please get in touch — I'd love to hear from you.
